So what, you say? I connected it far away from computer over WiFi with full controls enabled (even live view and focus). I used Canon 40D DSLR camera with original software, but you can use any camera with any supported software (at least I hope so).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Prepare<\/h2>\n<p>Most of information can be found at <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/www.8devices.com\/wiki_carambola\/doku.php\/using_usbip_with_carambola');\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.8devices.com\/wiki_carambola\/doku.php\/using_usbip_with_carambola\">8devices wiki<\/a>. But I will mention key parts below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Install Canon camera software.<\/li>\n<li>Install <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/usbip.sourceforge.net\/');\"  href=\"http:\/\/usbip.sourceforge.net\/\">usbip<\/a> from <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/usbip\/files\/');\"  href=\"http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/usbip\/files\/\">sourceforge.net<\/a>. You can chose from Windows and Linux. And install. Also install provided usbip virtual USB driver.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Carambola. For this you should update to latest firmware (probably older will do the job) and install usbip package. More details on 8devices wiki (link above).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to setup<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Carambola &#8211; just configure network parameters (AP or Client mode, IP settings, SSID and so).<\/li>\n<li>Windows &#8211; Install drivers for camera.<\/li>\n<li>Camera. Set USB protol co PTP. Your computer now thinks it has attached DSLR camera to it&#39;s USB port.
